Artist's Statement

Niwashi Tenka is a side project of Star Seven Design where we take orders from anyone seeking to have their name changed into their own custom Chinese character typeface. Since there are literally thousands of characters to choose from, we first select the characters that best represent your name. After that we can make your custom typeface.

This typface can then be used to make a Hanko (判子) or Inkan (印鑑), which is a traditional Japanese stamp used to sign contracts and for postage. The making process is either engraved or molded depending on the material of the stamp. Every order comes with a case, Shuniku (朱肉) red inkpad, and stamp mat.

We also include exports of your custom design typeface illustration in .otf, .ai, .jpg, and .png formats to be used in additional print and digital media works of your choosing. These make great unique personal gift items. However, order early as these take time to produce. Please call or email us for price and time estimates.
